Commissioned in 2004 and newly built in Holland in the style of the early passenger vessels, the 48,35 M (158’ 6”) GRACE is a “gentleman’s yacht” in steel and aluminium. Her classic exterior lines and traditional deck detailing, featuring solid teak decks and bronze railings, are skilfully combined with all the modern electronics, technical systems and safety equipment required for safe operation.
GRACE is a steel and aluminium ‘gentleman’s yacht’ with several exceptional features. Built with the romantic lines of vessels of the early 1900’s, she features a straight stem, a fan tail and sober superstructure lines with a slanting funnel and masts. She has all the modern electronics, technical systems and safety equipment to commercial standards.
Teak decks, bronze railings, deck fittings and lights are all in harmony with the coastal culture and architecture of the harbours, small fishing ports and islands of the Northern waters.
There are 5 double guest cabins, all with their own bathrooms and the dining room comfortably seats 10. The main saloon is fitted with large screen entertainment and has large windows with low sills for outside viewing while seated and the library has long bookshelves and a fireplace. Apart from an aft deck that has removable windows and a wet bar and large teak table for meals, there are further top decks for sun bathing and open air entertainment.
The heating system is laid out with radiators and convectors with an ‘arctic’ capacity; whilst in warmer climes the powerful air conditioning system can well afford the necessary comfort.
Two stainless steel professional galleys contain all the modern equipment to prepare first class meals for guests and crew, with a wine store. There is also a well equipped commercial laundry.
Built as a commercial vessel under Dutch flag and classed for unlimited world wide commercial navigation by the Dutch Shipping Inspection and Bureau Veritas, GRACE is thought to be the first purpose built yacht to achieve this. She is equipped for pollution free cruising and has a strengthened hull, propellers and rudders that allow her operation through ice of up to 40cm. GRACE is also fitted to enable silent mooring and anchoring at idyllic locations without disturbance, perfect for peaceful cruising in remote locations. |
